課程概述 |
Undergraduate-level course.
Based on: reading, analysis and discussion of English-language literature.
Training in: independent, critical thinking, active participation and problem-solving skills.
Goal: understanding literature and the relationship between literature and other forms of art; preparation for advanced courses in literature and social sciences. |
課程目標 |
In order for the students to better appreciate the value of literature and to better understand the function of literary criticism, the course will introduce them to key literary terms and analytical concepts. The 1st part of this course will focus mainly on fiction while the 2nd part will deal with drama written in prose. |
課程要求 |
Students are strongly encouraged to read the course materials prior to the class. They will be required to participate in group discussions and presentations in addition to compose journals in assigned topics. |
